Qualified views: why some views don't pay
Only qualified views earn. Meta now shows non-qualified views broken out by reason so you can see what's leaking.
What it means for you
In March 2026 Meta added three metrics: Qualified Views, Earnings Rate (about what you earn per 1,000 qualified views) and Non-Qualified Views.
Reasons a view doesn't qualify include: monetization off or disabled, no payout account set up, a policy violation, a crosspost from someone else's Page, non-public content, a copyright hold, a Reel under 10 seconds, repeat views in one session, under 5 seconds of watch time, and activity from restricted users.
Content that doesn't earn at all: posts where a copyright claim went to someone else, unsupported languages, crossposts from a Page you don't own, boosted posts, deleted posts, posts with ads switched off, incentivized engagement, and existing posts reshared to Stories.
✓ Do
- Check the Non-Qualified Views reasons every week.
- Set up your payout account on day one.
✕ Don't
- Reshare old posts to Stories expecting new earnings.
- Post Reels under 10 seconds for this program.
