The invite that wasn't
Ray got a Messenger message: "Congratulations! You're invited to Facebook Content Monetization. Verify your account here."
What happened
He had filled in the interest form weeks earlier, so it felt real. He clicked and entered his login.
Within an hour someone else controlled his Page.
The rule behind it
Meta sends Content Monetization invites only through the Facebook app, email, Meta Business Suite and your dashboard. Meta specifically warns about fake invitation links, including on Messenger.
Getting paid by following the rules
- Check invites only inside Meta's own tools: Professional dashboard, then Monetization.
- Never log in through a link sent by message.
- Turn on two-factor authentication and keep a backup admin on the Page.
Real invites show up in your dashboard, not your DMs.
