Quotes, slides and zero dollars
Marco's motivational quote videos got shared everywhere. His dashboard said they earned nothing.
What happened
Every video was the same recipe: five stock photos with a quote laid over each, set to music, about 20 seconds long.
Each reel showed 'Not monetizable' in his dashboard. There was no strike and nothing was removed. They just never earned.
The rule behind it
Slideshows and text montages are on Meta's list of formats that can't be monetized, on Facebook and Instagram.
Getting paid by following the rules
- Film himself reading one quote and explaining how he used it that week.
- Keep the quote graphics as unmonetized carousels for reach, and point viewers to his video content.
Reach and revenue follow different rules. Check format before you scale a format.
