The wine pairing anyone could see
A winery paid Sofia to feature its rosé in a summer pasta Reel. She tagged them and turned on the Paid Partnership label. She thought she was done.
What happened
She skipped one setting: the age restriction.
The brand noticed the post was visible to every age and asked her to take it down mid-campaign.
The rule behind it
Alcohol branded content is allowed only with an age restriction. In the US the minimum is 21, and alcohol branded content is banned outright in 17 countries.
Getting paid by following the rules
- Set the age restriction before publishing any alcohol partnership.
- Check the rules for each country her audience is in.
- Add age-gating to her own pre-post checklist.
The label tells people it's an ad. The age gate decides who sees it. Restricted brands need both.
