How strikes work
The short version
Strikes come from removed content, count across Facebook and Instagram, and expire after one year.

What it means for you
Not every removal adds a strike. It depends on severity, context and timing. Several removals at once may count as one strike.
For most violations, content posted more than 90 days before it was caught doesn't count. For severe violations the window is 4 years. Some violations, like child sexual exploitation, get an account disabled on the first offense.
✓ Do
- Check Account Status after any removal.
✕ Don't
- Assume a strike on Instagram stays on Instagram.
